Founder
John Meyer serves as President of Foristar Development, Incorporated. His responsibilities encompass all aspects of the business, including leadership and oversight of the management team. With over 37 years of experience in development, construction and property management, John personally oversees review of potential projects and investment analysis, including decisions related to highest and best use. After a potential project has been identified, John oversees acquisition negotiations, due diligence, design/utilization, project planning, and budgeting. For projects that pass muster and are acquired, John also leverages his experiences and other resources to manage the entire construction process, either as the designated General Contractor or as the Construction Manager.
In addition to founding Foristar, John serves as President of J Angelo Design Build, a full-service design build firm responsible for the completion of numerous commercial and residential projects. Throughout his construction career, John’s responsibilities have included planning and strategy, property development, obtaining entitlements, arranging financing, project management, bidding, negotiating contracts, project start-up and close-out, customer follow-up, financial management, staffing, and HR.
Prior to focusing on construction, John spent several years in the property management industry. His experience involved all aspects of managing portfolios of over $150 million in properties consisting of retail, multi-family, and high-rise office space, additionally overseeing property acquisition, financial analysis for acquisition, refinance, or disposition. Prior to beginning his career, John studied Business Administration at Texas A&M University, and has continued his education throughout his career by completing a vast array of coursework at industry specific institutions and associations.
